Dedicated to the memory of Martin Harvey

This site is a tribute to Martin (or Bert), to remember and celebrate the man who was much-loved and will undoubtedly be missed by many.

In the absence of being able to stage a fitting memorial at this time, it is my hope that those who knew and cared for Martin will share a memory or a moment via this site.

For me he was a loving, caring, kind husband, a true friend who amazed and inspired me, always supported me and made me laugh more than anyone else I've ever known. Martin was 40 when I met him, I loved him instantly and I feel so privileged to have had 29 years to share that love with him. He found peace and happiness in our family and was at the very heart of our 'troop' – we will be forever ‘misshapen’ and saddened without him.

I’m sure he was so much more to so many different people, judging by the kind messages we have received already. He was one of a kind, and not the easiest to sum up in a few words but I’m sure everyone who knew him has a story to tell so please share!

Thank you

Denise and family.

p.s Martin’s wish was for donations to the RSPCA to be made in his name by those who feel able and willing to do so. Follow the link to left if you would like to do this.

Thoughts

Martin was a bit of an enigma to me in the family, a man who was very much a corner post for Denise however and unfortunately I never really got to know him quite as well as I’d liked to have. Always a fantastic face to see and clearly ‘one of the good guys’ a fantastic grandfather to the kids and an interesting character to fire remarks about with, an example of the type of stepfather I want to be to my two. I can say that in the short time I had spent with him, he left a lasting Impression. I’m confident we’ll all raise many a jar in his honour, and I look forward to fully celebrating his life and hearing some stories once this mad world has sorted itself out! Just want to tell you I finally finished the hedge you started for me so thanks for the kick up the backside!
