It didn't take anyone long to warm to Martin. 
I remember being a little unsure as Rob brought me down to Derby to meet the family. The only member I hadn't met in Edinburgh. I thought he was a quiet man, friendly, but quiet. Then we got to the pub. The rest is history..... '  get it dan ya gal!!!!'
Always first to buy the round. Wouldn't have it any other way. He was very persistent despite my efforts. 
A gentleman. 
So warm. 
So encouraging. 
So funny without really trying. The most infectious laugh. 
I feel so blessed to have shared such wonderful adventures with him. Many a mountain climb in Scotland and the Lakes, running, biking and walking (well mostly seeing the back of his head in the distance somewhere). 
And my word did he wear his kilt well at rob and l's wedding, you won't get many an Englishman doing that!!! 
He was a good egg..... speaking of eggs!..... he loved an egg...... made the best boiled eggs in town.

I am going to miss you Martin. But will enjoy a laugh and cry when we remember how special you were. See you when I see you.
